Eddi Zanetti

Posted by Admin On January - 21 - 2012

Dance music is all about evolution. That means, although fidget house may not be as popular as it once was, to have been a pioneer during its ascendency was no mean feat for Eddi Zanetti. From his Leeds base he pushed the sound to an ever growing number of fans at nights like foremost Northern promotion Filth, whilst he’s now moved onto new territory as all restless music lovers do.

In 2012 Eddi will continue to DJ and continue to hone his understanding of dance floor dynamics, but he also aims to unleash a new sound into the scene. He’s currently exploring a futuristic blend of sonics which combine plenty of jack with techy electro into sure-fire dance floor dynamite. But don’t take his word for it, check out his forthcoming releases for evidence.
So, his move away from fidget is proving to be as successful: in the coming months he’s playing alongside Faithless at the Filth birthday in Leeds, and with Toolroom Knights at Ministry of Sound in London, whilst in the meantime a string of completed electro and tech house cuts will be released, starting with his first EP on Get Fresh in April. (Further details below).

All this comes after an already solid back catalogue of sets playing with, and importantly learning from, established talent like Jesse Rose, Switch, Fedde Le Grande, Riva Starr and more. The sorts of floors Eddi has had rocking really know their stuff, too, so his skill for picking and mixing records like the best of them is unquestionable. Just ask fans of places like Creamfields, Sankeys and Judgement Sundays at Eden, Es paradise or Mint Club in Leeds, or any one of the thousands of clubbers he played too whilst smashing up various clubs for three months on the White Isle last summer.

Of course, you don’t play music to ravers all round the world and not want it to be your tune they are bouncing to. So it is that Eddi is no slouch in the studio, either. In fact, he’s so hot that Radio 1’s electro king Kissy Sell Out played Eddi’s ‘Bust DJs’ track from Warehouse Music on his show two weeks in a row recently, but that wasn’t his first taste of success…

Another bow to Eddi’s string is his involvement as half of The Bombermen – a production team which has released a number of tracks so impressive top jocks like Stupid Fresh, The Squatters, Hijack, 2 Bit Thugs and Will Bailey have snapped them up for use in their record bags. As well as that, Eddi has also teamed up with DJ Jackanori to form a production and DJing duo named CROM which has also seen many successful records released and gigs played…. Not bad going for someone so young, you must agree.

With a top 25 hit in Beatport’s electro house chart already in the bag, it looks like Eddi Zanetti’s journey is set to continue apace: it’s time you jumped on board.

Outlook announce new festival, Dimensions

Posted by Admin On January - 19 - 2012

The team behind Croatia’s increasingly popular dance music festival, Outlook, have announced a new festival.

Named Dimensions, this new festival will take place in the same location as Outlook, but focus on the “deeper end” of the electronic music spectrum. And so although there’s still room on their 2012 line-up for some traditional Outlook favourites (Iration Steppas, Mungo’s Hi-Fi), the majority of the line-up draws from the more cerebral side of house, techno, dubstep and drum’n’bass.

So far, the following names have been confirmed (you might want to take a deep breath at this point): Moodymann, Dyed Soundorom, Marcel Dettmann, Ben Klock, Scuba, Shackleton, Joy Orbison, Levon Vincent, Kassem Mosse, Gold Panda, Theo Parrish, Pangaea, Loefah, Boddika, Midland, Floating Points, Surgeon, Kyle Hall, 2562, Benji B, Andrew Weatherall, Motor City Drum Ensemble, Mala, Pearson Sound, Ben UFO, Blawan, Sigha, Locked Groove, Space Dimension Controller, Pariah, Untold, Alexander Nut, Funkineven, Fatima (live), Iration Steppas, Mungo’s Hifi, Author, Pinch, Deadbeat, Anstam, dBridge, Dub Phizix, Consequence, SP:MC, Synkro and Paul Spymania.

Not bad, we’re sure you’ll agree. Dimensions takes place from September 6-9, and tickets go on sale at 4pm on Sunday January 22. Ticket prices can be found below; for more information, visit the Dimensions website.
