Jo has now established herself as a skilled and talented DJ and Producer who is well received and respected on the Northern Club Circuit. Now on a mission for the rest of the UK it is only a matter of time before she explodes. With a talented ear, hands and knowledge of music she knows what people and seems destined to become one of the top female DJing talents in the years to come.
Jo Kira, is a clear example that your experiences that happen to you have as you grow up as a child will have a big effect and route out what you do as you get older.
At an early age, she was out buying vinyl’s so she could learn how to mix the songs she loved. With a bit of help and guidance from her brother she quickly brought together the skills of beat matching and mixing itself.
Being a female DJ gives the people a refreshing lift from a job that is dominated by men. If anything, I would believe this to make Jo Kira more determined in her work, also not a person to do things by half! It can only pave the way for the UK to see more female DJs playing and headlining large events.
Jo has also landed herself DJ slot every Sunday on Radio Frequency 1200- 1400 GMT. From experience, I wouldn’t really call it a radio show? More of a “Jo Kira Weekly Essential Mix.’ For 2 hours, you will hear Jam City, Canblaster, Kingdom, Blawan, French Fries, Boddika. Night Slugs, Hessle Audio, SWAMP 81, Dirtybird, 502, Lucky Me … You are getting an idea of the show!? A radio slot dedicated to anything HOUSE, GARAGE & BASS! Famous or infamous, a great show to discover new tracks from around the globe or your local city!
